Taxi Driver Dies in Early Morning Crash on A128
Tragedy struck in Orsett on 5 October when 65-year-old taxi driver Norman Bullock died following a collision on the A128 Brentwood Road. Norman’s red Peugeot 308 collided with a black BMW X5 at around 4am, ending the life of the Grays man described as “kind and loving” with a “wicked sense of humour.”
Wife Pays Heartbreaking Tribute
Norman’s wife, Moira, shared a touching statement:
“You were a kind and loving man, who worked hard all your life.”
“You had a wicked sense of humour and a ready smile which I miss so much.”
“You were the other half of me. Till we meet again. Love forever. Moira xxx”
She also expressed gratitude for the support they have received: “Thanks for all the lovely tributes, cards, and flowers. Special thanks to Thameside Taxis and Kevin Stoker, who has been a real diamond.”
Driver Charged Over Fatal Crash
Edvinas Pupkis, 21, from Ilford’s Devonshire Road, has been charged following the fatal crash. He faces charges including causing death by careless driving, aggravated vehicle taking, failing to report a collision, and failing to stop.
Pupkis is due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on 5 November.
