£7.5m Cocaine Haul Busted at Dover Freight Terminal

Border Force Nets Massive Drug Haul

Miodrag Ivankovic, 45, was caught red-handed by Border Force officers at Dover’s freight controls on 6 September after arriving from Calais. A routine search of his truck uncovered a pallet packed with suspicious boxes. When officers cut into the shipment, white powder spilled out – a staggering 94kg of cocaine.

DNA Links Smuggler to £7.5m Drug Stash

The massive Class A drugs haul, worth an eye-watering £7.5 million on the streets, was directly linked to Ivankovic. His DNA was found on the boxes, and he admitted trying to smuggle the deadly cargo into the UK.

Organised Crime Group Loses Big

Ivankovic, originally from Banja Luka in north Bosnia, was sentenced yesterday at Canterbury Crown Court. NCA Branch Commander Martin Grace said:

“We and our Border Force partners have taken a significant consignment of cocaine out of the supply chain. The organised crime group behind the plot have lost profits they would have ploughed back into more offending and they have lost a trusted smuggler. Drugs bring misery to UK communities and the NCA will continue to do everything it can to combat the threat.”

The crackdown deals a serious blow to drug gangs trying to flood British streets with deadly narcotics.
