Homeless man’s chilling obsession sparks four-day terror for young girl and family
Sinaj’s stalking spree fuels fear
Erson Sinaj, homeless and obsessed, targeted a young girl after spotting her in a local park. His disturbing fixations triggered a nightmare that lasted four days.
Ignoring police and neighbours’ orders to leave, Sinaj repeatedly showed up at the girl’s home. At first, her mother feared a burglary, but Sinaj’s sinister behaviour soon made his true intentions clear. He kept knocking on the door and lurking outside the girl’s window late at night.
Sinaj claims ‘mutual love’ amid police warnings
When police confronted Sinaj, he brazenly claimed he had every right to be there because he and the girl “expressed mutual love.”
Judge Simon Mayo slammed Sinaj’s “deluded desire to establish a relationship,” warning the man refused to recognise how wrong his actions were. The judge called Sinaj’s belief in a mutual connection with a minor “deeply troubling.”
Family left shaken, lawyer cites language gap
The stalking caused the girl’s mother to suffer terror, sleepless nights, and crippling anxiety over her daughter’s safety.
Prosecutor Sebastian Cox revealed Sinaj ignored police warnings and kept knocking on the door, desperate to communicate.
Sinaj’s lawyer, Afzal Syed-Ali, claimed his client couldn’t communicate effectively with the family or neighbours due to a language barrier.
Justice served: Prison and restraining order
Sinaj, who admits stalking and causing serious alarm or distress, was jailed for eight months.
He’s also slapped with a restraining order banning him from contacting or approaching the girl and her family.
