Eastbourne Monster Kevin Long Jailed for Sick Abuse of Children

Kevin Long, 65, from Binsted Close, Eastbourne, has been slammed behind bars at Lewes Crown Court. After an eight-day trial, he was found guilty of 22 vile offences, including rape, sexual assault, and child neglect.

Decade-Old Horrors Uncovered After Victim Speaks Out

The court heard that Long preyed on five children — three girls and two boys aged between 6 and 15 — at multiple homes he lived in around Eastbourne 15 to 20 years ago. The girls suffered repeated sexual abuse, while the boys endured cruel treatment.

It wasn’t until 2018 that one brave victim finally revealed the horrifying truth of those early 2000s atrocities. This led police to launch a full investigation that exposed the shocking scale of Long’s crimes.

Detective Praises Courage of Victims and Police Team

“Long was a systematic offender against vulnerable young people, exploiting his access for his own heartless gratification,” said Detective Sergeant David Gibbs of the East Sussex Safeguarding Investigations Unit.

“We admire the bravery of these victims, who faced serious emotional and physical trauma, in coming forward. Their evidence, backed by the tireless work of PC Joanne Fox, Simon Milloy from Witness Care, and John Cousins from the Statement Taking team, was crucial to securing justice.”

“Long pleaded not guilty to all charges, but the evidence was so overwhelming the jury convicted him on all 22 counts in less than two hours.”
