David Musins Jailed for Membership of Far-Right Group National Action
Undercover Extremist Unmasked
David Musins, 36, was arrested at his north London home on 10 November 2021 after a probe by Met Police counter-terrorism detectives. He was charged with membership of the proscribed extremist group National Action.
Commander Richard Smith of the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command said: “This was a detailed investigation which led to an admission of guilt. The team should be highly commended. Musins appeared unremarkable, but secretly embraced hateful, extreme right-wing ideologies.”
From Online Posts to Real-Life Meetups
Musins’s extremist ties run deep. In February 2016, he posted on the Iron March message board, revealing his interest in National Socialism after studying history. He attended a Paddington pub meeting and a ‘Legion’ training camp in Derbyshire that March.
Later that year, he marched with National Action in Darlington. Even after the government banned National Action in December 2016, Musins stayed involved as the group rebranded itself NS131, joining survival and knife training in Essex in 2017.
Police Find Paraphernalia and Evidence at Musins’ Home
When police raided his home in November 2021, they seized black clothing, skull-decorated face coverings, sunglasses, spray paint, boxing gloves, and a groin guard—gear linked to his extremist activities.
A USB stick revealed an exercise diary referencing the 2016 Legion camp, underscoring his active role within the banned group.
Justice Served
Musins pleaded guilty on 14 March to membership of a proscribed organisation. On 27 May, the Old Bailey sentenced him to three years in prison plus 12 months on licence.
Commander Smith urged the public:
“If you’re worried about loved ones drifting towards extremism, report it to the police. You might just save lives.”
