Cop Busted for Harassing Colleagues With Threatening Calls
PC Ajay Singh, a North Area officer, has been fired for gross misconduct after pleading guilty to harassing five colleagues. The misconduct hearing on Tuesday, 17 August, confirmed he breached professional standards through discreditable conduct.
Five Counts of Harassment
Singh admitted making malicious and threatening phone calls to four female officers and one male colleague in October 2020. All calls came from a withheld number and included threats, insults, and verbal abuse—all while he was off-duty.
Quick Police Action: Arrest and Suspension
One victim reported the abuse on 19 October 2020. Police traced the calls to Singh’s phone, leading to his arrest the same day. A second arrest followed on 16 November, covering the remaining victims. Singh has been suspended since 26 October 2020 and awaits sentencing on 1 and 8 September.
Zero Tolerance From the Met
“The actions of PC Singh were reprehensible, particularly given they were committed against his own colleagues,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Treena Fleming. “His motive remains unclear, but the impact on his victims is significant. This kind of conduct has no place in the Met.”
Assistant Commissioner Helen Ball chaired the hearing and confirmed Singh’s dismissal without notice.
