Cyclist Left Fighting for Life After Hit-and-Run in Erdington

A cyclist has been left with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car that fled the scene in Erdington, Birmingham this afternoon (16 May).

Hit-and-Run Takes Place on Marlow Road

The 39-year-old man was struck by a vehicle around 5.25pm on Marlow Road. Witnesses say the car, described as a greyish large hatchback or small SUV, briefly stopped before speeding off.

Police Launch Serious Collision Investigation

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from the serious collision unit, said: “Our investigation is in the early stages, but we’re speaking to witnesses who are helping us. We’ll be conducting a forensic examination of the scene and checking CCTV footage.”

“I’d urge the driver to do the right thing and contact us as soon as possible. A man is seriously injured and it’s important we get answers for all involved.”
