Van driver arrested after cyclist left fighting for life in Wandsworth smash

Serious crash on Tooting Bec Road

A cyclist remains in a life-threatening condition after a nasty collision with a van on Tooting Bec Road, Wandsworth. The crash happened around 10:30pm on Friday, November 1, near the junction with Franciscan Road.

Driver charged and in custody

Emergency services rushed to the scene, including officers and the London Ambulance Service. The cyclist was taken to hospital with severe injuries. The 50-year-old van driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, and driving under the influence. He is now held in police custody.
