Tragic End for Brave 12-Year-Old Archie After Long Legal Battle
Proud Mum’s Heartbreaking Tribute
His mother, Hollie Dance, broke down outside the hospital, calling herself “the proudest mum in the world.” She described Archie as “a beautiful little boy who fought until the very end.” Hollie added, “I am so proud to be his mother.”
Final Moments Confirmed
Archie passed away at 12:15 p.m., after being taken off medication at 10 a.m., according to Ella Rose Carter, fiancee of Archie’s eldest brother Tom. She said the boy’s vital signs stayed stable for two hours following the removal of medication, until ventilation was withdrawn.
Family Speaks Out on Horrific Ordeal
“There is nothing dignified about watching a family member or child suffocate. We hope no other family has to go through what we have. It’s heinous.”
Lengthy Legal Battle to Let Archie Die with Dignity
Archie’s parents fought relentlessly to move him to a hospice for end-of-life care. They took their case all the way to the High Court, Court of Appeal, and even the European Court of Human Rights.
The 12-year-old had been in a coma since April, after his mother found him unconscious. He was kept alive with ventilation and drug treatments.
