Man Charged After Deadly Meopham Pub Stabbing

Detectives have charged a man following a violent stabbing outside the Cricketers Inn in Meopham that left one dead and another seriously injured.

Deadly Drama at The Cricketers Inn

Kent Police rushed to the scene on Wrotham Road just before 9:15pm on Saturday 5 November 2022. Officers found two men with stab wounds. Tragically, 35-year-old Craig Allen from Marden died at the scene. A 50-year-old man from Meopham was rushed to hospital but later arrested on suspicion of murder. He has since been discharged and taken into custody as investigations continue.

Second Man Charged with Attempted Murder

Hours after the stabbing, 29-year-old Miguel Batista was arrested and charged with attempted murder for allegedly attacking the 50-year-old. Batista is set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 9 November.

Victims Known to Each Other

Police believe all men involved knew each other and are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the case.
