Man Charged After Attempted Bank Robberies in Bexhill and St Leonards

Three Attempted Robberies in One Afternoon

Alan Slattery, 69, from Hastings, has been charged with three counts of attempted robbery. The incidents took place on Friday 10 February between 2pm and 3.20pm at two locations: the National Building Society in St Leonards and both the National Building Society and NatWest in Bexhill.

Swift Arrest Follows Reports

Following reports of the attempted robberies, Slattery was quickly arrested. He appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 15 February, where he was remanded in custody.

Next Court Date Set for March

Slattery is due to appear before Lewes Crown Court on Wednesday 15 March for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
