Violent Attack Outside Maidstone Pub
James Anderson, 46, from Tonbridge, has been slammed with a seven-and-a-half-year prison sentence after a savage assault outside the Market House pub in Maidstone. The attack on a 50-year-old man left the victim with severe head injuries.
The shocking incident happened in the early hours of 4 August 2024 on Earl Street. Anderson was standing with a group when the victim approached and started chatting. Without warning, Anderson headbutted him, punched him to the ground, smashed him with a pint glass, and stamped on him five times, knocking the man unconscious.
Swift Police Action Leads to Arrest

Court Locks Up Killer Biker
On 25 September 2024, Anderson pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court. The judge handed down a tough sentence of seven and a half years behind bars on 16 January 2025.

“Anderson launched a violent and unprovoked attack that left the victim unconscious with serious injuries,” said Detective Constable Ashleigh Fell.
“He showed no remorse and didn’t seek medical help for the victim. The lengthy sentence sends a strong message that this kind of violence won’t be tolerated.”
