Police scrambled to Brighton’s McDonald’s on London Road after around 20 animal rights activists staged a disruptive protest on Friday evening, May 17, at about 7.35pm.
Arrest Made Amid Disturbance
The swift police response ended with the arrest of 23-year-old Dylan Roffey from Terminus Road, Brighton. She faces charges of criminal damage and obstructing a police officer carrying out their duty.
Legal Proceedings Underway
Roffey is set to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on June 6.
Police Warning Issued
District Commander Rachel Swinney warned: “We will work with organisers to facilitate peaceful protests that balance the rights of those to protest without disproportionately affecting the rights of the general public. However, we will not tolerate criminal or intimidating behaviour.”
