Burglary Boss Busted: Bournemouth Burglar Caged for 16 Months
Fabian McNerney, 44, a no-fixed-abode career crook, has been locked up for 16 months at Bournemouth Crown Court. The prolific burglar pleaded guilty to breaking into a business and had four other similar offences counted against him.
Shock at Boscombe Barbers
On the evening of Monday 8 January 2018, a vigilant member of the public spotted suspicious behaviour at The Barbers on Seabourne Road, Boscombe. Two men were seen acting shady. The witness quickly alerted the shop owner.
The owner confronted one of the men who was caught stuffing stolen items into a bag. A tussle broke out. In the chaos, the thief dropped a trainer and a pair of gloves before making a getaway in a car driven by his partner in crime.
Quick Police Action Snaps the Crooks
Police traced the getaway car parked outside a Bournemouth address on Windham Road. McNerney was arrested as he left the premises.
Officers found two bags of stolen goods from The Barbers in the hallway. The missing shoe was discovered in the vehicle, matching McNerney’s foot size.
Cops Warn Businesses: Burglaries Hit Hard
Detective Constable Ben Swain said: “Fabian McNerney is a prolific burglar who targets businesses for his own greed. These crimes can often have a huge financial impact on small businesses who have to work hard to continue operating.”
“We take burglary extremely seriously and will use all investigative avenues available to us to ensure those responsible for these crimes are caught and brought to justice.”
