PSNI Chief Superintendent Arrested for Drink-Driving After Lisburn Crash
A senior PSNI officer has been arrested and charged after a Christmas Eve traffic collision in Lisburn. The 56-year-old woman, believed to be Chief Superintendent Patricia Foy, was caught driving under the influence and will face Lisburn Magistrates’ Court next month.

Police confirmed the woman failed a breath test after the crash on 24 December. She’s been charged with driving with excess alcohol and driving without due care and attention. The PSNI revealed she is a serving officer who has now been suspended.
“Following a road traffic collision in the Lisburn area on 24 December, police have charged a 56-year-old woman with a number of motoring offences,” stated a PSNI spokeswoman.

- Between 1-8 December, 176 arrested for drink/drug-driving – 12 more than 2021.
- Last year, nearly 7,000 breath tests were conducted with 295 arrests.
Superintendent Gary Busch warned: “176 people chose to disregard our warning. They now face court and the loss of their driving licence, affecting their lives and families.”
