Drunken Driver Banned for 2 Years After Smashing Legal Limit

William Hammond, 25, from Beacon Road, Crowborough, has been slapped with a 24-month driving ban after failing a breath test by a huge margin.

Huge Over-the-Limit Breath Test

On 11 January 2022, Hammond was caught behind the wheel in Cranbrook with a staggering 103 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. That’s nearly three times the UK legal limit of 35 microgrammes.

Sentenced at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court

Plucking a guilty plea, Hammond faced the music on 31 January at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court. The judge handed down a 24-month driving disqualification and slapped on a £95 surcharge along with £85 in costs.

It’s a harsh reminder that drink-driving wrecks lives—and wallets.
