Drink-Driver Banned for 2 Years After Being Caught Nearly Triple the Legal Limit

Macaulay Murray, 27, from Leander Close, Deal, got done for drink-driving after a roadside test revealed he was way over the limit.

Caught Red-Handed in Deal

On 23 January 2022, Murray was stopped and blew 99 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is just 35 microgrammes – meaning he was almost three times over the limit.

Judge Hands Down Tough Penalty

At Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 23 February, Murray pleaded guilty. The court disqualified him from driving for 24 months. He was also slapped with 60 hours of unpaid work to be completed within the next year.

On top of that, he faces a £95 surcharge and £85 in costs.
