Deptford Rapper DigDat Accused in Brutal Notting Hill Drive-By Shooting

Savage Attack Leaves Man Fighting for Life

Nathan Tokosi, better known as Deptford rapper DigDat, faces gruesome charges after a drive-by shooting in Notting Hill left 27-year-old Daniel Offei-Ntow riddled with bullets. On November 20, 2023, Offei-Ntow was blasted at least six times while sitting in his Mitsubishi Outlander. Shots tore into his head, mouth, and body.

Despite horrific injuries, Offei-Ntow survived what the court described as a “lucky escape from death.” Firearms officers discovered the bullet-riddled car soaked in blood. Nearby, a police dog uncovered a latex glove, a firearm, and three rounds of ammo close to the abandoned stolen Audi used in the shooting.

DNA Evidence Ties Rapper to Crime

Prosecutor Kate Bex KC dropped a bombshell in court, revealing Tokosi’s DNA was found on the headrest of the stolen Audi. Also detected was DNA from his rapper mate Kamal Benjamin, aka Wesson.

Further digging showed Tokosi borrowed a BMW and made two separate trips from Deptford to Notting Hill on consecutive nights before the shooting. Critically, the BMW was spotted near the stolen Audi, strengthening claims of Tokosi’s direct involvement.

Friend’s Dubai Alibi Sparks Debate

Benjamin’s DNA in the car initially linked him to the scene. But social media posts complicated matters, placing the rapper in Dubai at the time. Videos showed Benjamin partying with stars like Lil Durk and 50 Cent — thousands of miles away from the UK attack.

“There are only two possibilities,” said Bex. “Either Benjamin never left the UK or his DNA was transferred by someone he’s very close to.”

Close Friendship Under the Microscope

Court heard Tokosi and Benjamin are “very close friends,” constantly messaging on Snapchat and Instagram. Just two weeks before the shooting, Tokosi sent Benjamin a photo of the pair in a Lamborghini, captioned with a heartfelt message. This bond could explain the DNA mix-up.

Serious Charges and Denials

Tokosi, 25, from Deptford, denies all charges, including:

  • Attempted murder
  • Causing grievous bodily harm with intent
  • Possession of a self-loading pistol and ammunition on November 20, 2023
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition on February 16, 2024 (date of arrest)

Old Bailey Trial Continues
