19-Year-Old Held Over Fatal London Stabbing

A 19-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, 28 December, on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.

Another Arrest Made, But Bail Granted

Earlier, a 22-year-old man was also arrested on Sunday, 24 December, on suspicion of murder. He has since been released on bail, pending further inquiries.

Details Emerge in Fatal Thornton Heath Stabbing

The victim, 27-year-old Michael Patrick Afonso Peixoto, was fatally stabbed on Tuesday, 19 December. The attack happened around 10:30pm on Mayfield Crescent, Thornton Heath, when a group of men launched a brutal assault.

After attacking Michael, the suspects sped off in his car — a grey 1 Grand X Elite with registration DL19LVS. Police have since recovered the vehicle.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

Detective Inspector Martin Thorpe of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the probe. He said:

“While these arrests mark significant developments in this investigation, there is still much more to uncover. I want to thank everyone who came forward with information, especially those who helped us find the car Michael was travelling in. If you were in the area and saw what happened but haven’t spoken to police, please do. Your info could be crucial in bringing those responsible to justice.”
