Second Arrest Made in Shocking Woodford Green Shooting
Police have arrested a second man over a dramatic shooting in Woodford Green. A 28-year-old was taken into custody on Saturday, 13 July, on suspicion of attempted murder and firearms offences. He remains held by detectives.
Two Men in Custody as Investigation Deepens
Earlier the same day, a man in his 50s was arrested over the shooting on suspicion of attempted murder and firearms offences. He has since been bailed to return to police in mid-August.
Gunshot Victim in Critical Condition
The violent attack took place at a residential property on Malvern Drive just after 11pm on Thursday, 11 July. Armed officers rushed to the scene and found a 41-year-old man with gunshot wounds. He remains in critical condition in hospital.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Out
Detective Chief Inspector Nicky Arrowsmith of Trident said: “This investigation remains ongoing and officers continue to follow a number of lines of enquiry. We are still appealing for any witnesses or anyone who has information to come forward and speak to police.”
“The shooting took place at a residential property in Malvern Drive. Were you in the area around that time? Did you see anything unusual or anyone fleeing the scene?”
