Brutal Bar Brawl: Man Hospitalised with Brain Injury
Dorset Police were called to Ye Olde George Inn on Castle Street just before 11pm on Saturday, 28 August 2021, after a violent scuffle involving four or five men. During the fracas, a man in his 30s was punched hard, sending him crashing to the floor and suffering a serious head injury.
Victim Rushed to Hospital
Emergency services quickly arrived on the scene. The injured man was rushed to hospital where he is being treated for a bleed on the brain. Police launched an immediate investigation.
Suspect Arrested Over Assault
Detectives from Bournemouth CID have arrested a 23-year-old Bournemouth man on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. The inquiry is ongoing.
Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Inspector Aston Starkie urged, “We are carrying out a number of enquiries into this incident and I would appeal for any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward. I would also urge anyone with further information that might assist our investigation to please get in touch.”
