Tragic Stabbing Rocks Croydon’s New Addington
Detectives are hunting for witnesses after a deadly stabbing shocked New Addington on Tuesday night. At around 6pm on September 12, police rushed to North Walk following reports of a violent fight.
One Dead, Another Rushed to Hospital
Officers and paramedics found two young men slashed and bleeding. A 20-year-old sadly died at the scene, with his devastated family informed. A post-mortem is set to reveal more about his death. The second victim, aged 19, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Thankfully, he remains stable.
20-Year-Old Arrested for Murder
Police have arrested a 20-year-old man, who now faces murder charges. The Specialist Crime unit is leading the investigation, digging deep to uncover the full story of this daylight attack.
Police Plead for Witnesses and CCTV Footage
“This fatal attack happened in daylight, and I’m sure it would have been witnessed by a number of people,” said Detective Inspector Jason Fitzpatrick. “We’re reviewing local CCTV and urge anyone with video doorbell or dashcam footage to come forward. It’s vital we find those responsible.”
Superintendent Mitch Carr added: “The community shares our shock at losing such a young life. Extra officers will be in the area, so please talk to them if you have any information. Together, we can fight violent crime.”
