Teen Driver in Brighton Causes Mayhem Trying to Flee Police
Police Chase Ends in Crash
A 19-year-old has been arrested in Brighton after a high-speed attempt to evade police ended with a minor collision. The drama unfolded around 9.40pm on Wednesday, February 28, when officers were tipped off about a suspected intoxicated driver at Russell Place.
When police signalled the vehicle to stop, the driver ignored the order, resulting in a collision with a police car. The driver, 19-year-old Eren Sezen from Croydon, was quickly apprehended.
Multiple Charges Laid
Sussex Police confirmed Sezen faces a slew of serious charges including dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, and refusing to provide a breath sample. On top of that, he was caught driving without proper insurance and without adhering to licence conditions.
Next Stop: Brighton Magistrates’ Court
Sezen is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 3, to answer the charges. This case is a stark reminder of the dangers posed by reckless and possibly drink-driving motorists on the roads.
