£60K Audi Crashes Into North London Science Lab After Driver Blinks Out
Emergency crews scrambled on Sunday after a high-value blue Audi careered down a set of stairs and smashed into a busy media building in North London’s Brandon Road.
Driver Blacked Out Before Shocking Smash
The man behind the wheel reportedly lost consciousness, causing him to lose control. The £60,000 car mounted the pavement, barreled down the stairs, and crashed straight through the building’s glass entrance.
Chaos and Damage at the Scene
The incident just after 1pm left shattered glass everywhere and wrecked doors at the front of the lab. A witness described the scene as “chaotic,” with the Audi lodged firmly in the building’s frontage.
Lucky Escape for Driver
- Paramedics treated the driver at the scene, who walked away with minor injuries.
- No other injuries were reported.
- Police confirmed the driver suffered a medical episode before the crash.
- Firefighters worked to secure the site and extract the vehicle.
“Thankfully, there were no serious injuries, but the damage to the building is extensive. Enquiries are ongoing,” a police spokesperson said.
The building remains closed off while experts assess the structural damage after the dramatic crash.
