Drug Dealer Jailed After Police Bust in Winsford
A 32-year-old man caught dealing Class A and B drugs on the streets of Winsford has been locked up for three years.
Iain Alexander’s Court Case
Iain Alexander, from Robinson Lane, pleaded guilty to multiple offences at Chester Crown Court on 8 November. These included possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine (Class A), as well as cannabis (Class B).
He also admitted to possession of criminal property, carrying a weapon designed to discharge electrical shocks, driving without a licence, and driving without insurance.
Police Stop Leads to Shocking Finds
The drama unfolded on 9 October when officers on patrol stopped Alexander driving a silver car on Saxons Crossway, Winsford.
Alexander immediately confessed he didn’t have a full driving licence. A search uncovered a small wrap of brown powder hidden in his sock, three mobile phones, and a large stash of cash.
Further searches of his vehicle revealed a foil-lined bag suspected to contain stolen goods and an electrical incapacitation device disguised as a keyring.
Hidden Drugs Discovered During Custody
After being arrested and taken to Middlewich custody, officers found heroin and cocaine concealed inside a Kinder egg hidden in his buttocks.
Analysis of Alexander’s phones uncovered numerous text messages proving his involvement in illegal drug sales.
Police Warn: Drug Crime Will Not Be Tolerated
Detective Constable Claire Heatley, Northwich Proactive Policing Team, said:
“Illegal drugs wreck communities, and we are determined to hold offenders like Alexander to account.
“We gathered solid evidence despite his silence in custody. Now he’s behind bars facing the consequences.”
“This is a clear warning to anyone thinking of bringing drugs into Cheshire — we will not tolerate it.
If you see drug activity in your area, report it on 101 or through our website.”
