A drug dealer’s flashy designer gear was snatched by cops after he was caught red-handed with cocaine in Tunbridge Wells.

Suspicious Motorist Stopped on Grove Hill Road

On 9 April 2020, Tunbridge Wells Community Policing officers spotted Daniel Collins acting nervously while parked in his Audi A3 on Grove Hill Road.

They searched his car, uncovering two mobile phones, £360 cash, and six packets of cocaine lurking in his pocket. Collins was promptly arrested.

Home Raid Uncovers More Drugs and Cash Stash

At Collins’ home in Upper Grosvenor Road, officers found a bowl of cocaine worth around £1,280, seven grams of cannabis, plastic deal bags, scales, £2,260 in cash, two watches, and more designer clothing and trainers.

Three-Year Prison Sentence for Collins

Collins, 36, faced charges including possessing cocaine with intent to supply, cannabis possession, and holding criminal property.

He pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court and was sentenced to three years behind bars on 26 May.

“It is apparent that this drug dealer was making sufficient profits to fund an expensive lifestyle,” said Kent Police’s District Commander for Tunbridge Wells, Chief Inspector Pete Steenhuis.

“My proactive officers have the skills to identify drug dealers operating on our streets and as a result Collins was swiftly brought to justice.

“We will of course be applying for confiscation of the cash and designer items as proceeds of crime.”
