Drug Dealer Caught with Coke, Weapons and Fake ID in Tunbridge Wells

Sadri Gega’s drug-running days are over after police swooped on his car in Tunbridge Wells. Officers seized cocaine, weapons, and fake ID from the 54-year-old dealer, who has now been locked up for four years.

Suspicious Behaviour Leads to Police Stop

On January 7, 2020, Gega was spotted driving a Kia Rio acting oddly on London Road. When police from the Tunbridge Wells Community Policing Team approached, Gega handed over a fake driving licence and an Italian ID with a false name. But that was just the start.

Officers found an extendable baton tucked behind the passenger seat. A search of the car uncovered 26 bags of cocaine ready for sale.

Further Search Reveals More Drugs and Weapons

Police then searched a nearby address linked to Gega. Inside a suitcase, they found 30 more bags of cocaine, nearly £2,000 in cash, and a lock knife with a blade nearly four inches long. Gega’s true identity was exposed when Albanian residency and passport documents were recovered during the raid.

Court Sends Gega Down for Four Years

Facing charges for possession with intent to supply cocaine, carrying an offensive weapon, and holding fake ID, Gega pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court. The judge sentenced him on July 20 to four years behind bars. Gega, 54, has no fixed address.

PC Chris Clancy of the Tunbridge Wells Community Policing Team said: “This sentencing shows how effective our officers are at cracking down on drug dealers in our community. There is still plenty of work to do, but we are determined to dismantle organised crime that ruins lives. We urge the public to report suspicious behaviour by calling 101, or 999 if a crime is happening.”
