Eight Held After Man Stabbed in Broad Daylight Attack in Newhaven
A man in his 30s was left with a minor stab wound after a savage assault on Fort Road, Newhaven, on Sunday night.
Violent Attack Shakes Newhaven
At around 8.55pm on June 2, the victim was walking along Fort Road when a group suddenly surrounded and attacked him. Police rushed to the scene and launched a wide-area search for the suspects.
Eight Arrested Over Brutal Assault
- Three 16-year-olds and a 19-year-old from Newhaven arrested for grievous bodily harm (GBH)
- A 17-year-old from Hastings also nabbed on GBH suspicion
- 14-year-old Newhaven boy arrested on GBH suspicion
- Another 17-year-old from Newhaven arrested on suspicion of affray
- 22-year-old man from Newhaven arrested but later released without charge
Suspects Released on Bail
All eight have now been released on police bail pending further inquiries. The five suspects tied to GBH have bail set until June 24 or 25. The teen held for affray is on bail until July 1. Police investigations continue.
