Chaos in Central London as Household Cavalry Horses Bolt
Central London was thrown into turmoil when five Household Cavalry horses broke free during a morning exercise on Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall. The runaway horses caused panic, crashing into cars and injuring a soldier in the process.
Injuries and Damage as Horses Stampede Through Streets
Eyewitnesses described scenes of sheer panic as the spooked horses charged through the streets near Buckingham Palace Road, Victoria. One soldier was hurt after falling from his horse during a collision with a car outside the Clermont Hotel. Bystanders heard his screams of pain as he lay injured on the ground.
Disturbing images showed two of the horses galloping through London streets, bloodied and distressed. Passersby rushed to comfort the injured animals amid the chaos.
Emergency Services Rush to Contain Situation
The London Ambulance Service quickly arrived to treat injuries on Buckingham Palace Road. Police and Army personnel worked together to secure the loose horses. Two were rounded up on the Highway near Limehouse and taken for veterinary care.
Met Police Statement: “We are aware of a number of horses that are currently loose in central London and are working with colleagues, including the Army, to locate them.
Authorities continue their efforts to find and safely secure the remaining animals after this rare and dramatic incident in the heart of the capital.
