Vibrant Young Man Fatally Stabbed in Morden

Detectives are scrambling to catch the culprits behind the brutal stabbing of Patrick Gomes De’Almeida, a 25-year-old described as “full of life and laughter.”

Just before 11pm on Thursday, 1 October, emergency services rushed to London Road, Morden, after reports of a stabbing outside a block of flats. Two men were found injured; sadly, Patrick was pronounced dead at the scene at 11.26pm.

Masked Attackers Flee Scene in Car

Police say three masked suspects assaulted Patrick outside a London Road address. They fled the scene in a car after the fatal attack. A second victim, aged 33, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are probing whether this savage attack is linked to vandalism of Patrick’s white Volkswagen Scirocco, which was deliberately damaged on London Road a week earlier, on the evening of Wednesday, 23 September, or early hours of Thursday, 24 September.

Family Pays Heartbreaking Tribute to ‘P’

“P had a heart of gold. He was loving, caring and full of life and laughter. You always knew when P was in the room. He had the gift of making people smile. P will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Life will not be the same. As he always said ‘It’s not a party without P’.”

Hunt on for Callous Killers

DCI Helen Rance, leading the investigation for Specialist Crime South Command, urged witnesses to come forward.

“Patrick’s family are heartbroken that he has been taken from them. My team and I are working round the clock to piece together what happened and find out who is responsible. Those responsible for this vicious attack are dangerous, and I know there are others out there who have information.

“It is vital they come forward, either directly to police or anonymously via Crimestoppers. We want to speak to anyone who was in the London Road area near Grosvenor Court and Homefield flats on the evening of 23 September or early hours of 24 September, or between 10pm and 11pm on 1 October.”

“The public’s help is crucial to catch those who carry deadly weapons and commit terrible crimes.”

Police have made no arrests yet. Anyone with information should call 101 and quote reference Cad 7953/01Oct.
