Man in his 50s stabbed to death in North London street

Police rushed to Northwold Road, N16, shortly after 11pm on Tuesday, 30 July following reports of a stabbing. Paramedics battled to save the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tragic Killing Shakes Hackney Community

His next of kin have been informed, and a post-mortem exam will be arranged soon. No arrests have been made yet, with police continuing their urgent investigations into the shocking stabbing.

Detective Chief Superintendent Speaks Out

Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway, in charge of policing Hackney and Tower Hamlets, said:

“I understand the shock and concern this incident will cause, especially following last week’s tragic murder of Pharrell Garcia in the same borough. Our team of experienced detectives is working tirelessly to find those responsible for this violent act.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man killed last night.”

No Link to Recent Murder, But Knife Crime Remains a Threat

Conway stressed that despite both murders occurring in Hackney, there is no suggestion they are connected. A fourth person has been charged with Pharrell Garcia’s murder and is awaiting trial.

“These incidents highlight the ongoing danger posed by those carrying knives. We have increased resources targeting knife crime and are working hard with local partners to keep our communities safe,” Conway added.
