Five Nabbed in Secret Docs Sting
The Metropolitan Police have cracked down hard, arresting five suspects accused of breaching the Official Secrets Act. Three of them face extra heat for possessing false identity documents, slapped with charges under the Identity Documents Act 2010. The initial bust happened back in February, sparking a flurry of legal action.
Who Are the Suspects?
- A 45-year-old man from Norfolk
- A 42-year-old man from west London
- A 32-year-old woman from central London
- A 31-year-old man from west London
- A 29-year-old woman from north London
All five have been released on police bail. They are set to face court again in September 2023.
False ID Trio Named
The three charged with false ID possession have been identified as:
- Orlin Roussev, 45, Princes Road, Great Yarmouth
- Biser Dzambazov, 42, High Road, Harrow
- Katrin Ivanova, 31, High Road, Harrow
Police discovered a stash of 19 forged passports, driving licences, ID cards, and residence permits during the swoop. The fakes came from a slew of countries: France, Italy, Bulgaria, Spain, Britain, Greece, Croatia, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia. All three charged are thought to be Bulgarian nationals.
Love, Lies, and False Papers
Adding a twist, Dzambazov and Ivanova are reported to be a couple. The trio last appeared at London’s Old Bailey on July 31. Dates for upcoming court hearings are still to be confirmed.
The Met’s counter-terrorism command is leading the investigation, hinting at serious security concerns behind the arrests.
