Gang Jailed for Brutal Machete Murder in Basingstoke
Four men have been locked up for life after a savage machete attack left Frazer Brabant dead. Scott Neale (35), Forhad Miah (32), Lee Wood (32), and James O’Connor (25) were convicted of murder at Winchester Crown Court following an intense eight-week trial.
Plot for Revenge Ends in Fatal Stabbing
The court heard how Frazer Brabant, 31, was found in the front garden of a home in Gershwin Road, Basingstoke, with catastrophic head injuries after a violent attack on 31 October 2019. He never recovered from the coma that followed, dying almost three months later in January 2020.
Prosecutors revealed the men had stormed a property, sprayed an unknown substance in the owner’s face, then chased Brabant outside where they savagely beat him with a heavy, sharp weapon described as a machete or sword.
Gruesome Attack Followed Months of Retaliation
- On 31 July 2019, Brabant robbed Scott Neale of cannabis, sparking the deadly feud.
- Between August and October, the gang tracked Brabant, launching attacks on his partner’s home and smashing windows at associates’ properties.
- Digital evidence showed the group relentlessly hunted Brabant for revenge before the brutal killing.
