Five Officers Attacked During Violent Brawl
Police were called to a violent altercation at 7.55pm on Wednesday, July 27th. The incident turned nasty as three Special Constables and two response officers were brutally assaulted.
Officers Punched and Kicked in Shocking Attack
- Three officers took punches to the face and mouth
- One was kicked
- Another was punched in the back
Two Arrested for Assault on Emergency Workers
A 30-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of affray and assaulting emergency workers. Both remain in police custody.
“It’s unacceptable that any of our officers are assaulted, especially in the line of duty,” said Chief Inspector Andy Liddell. “We will not tolerate such behaviour. Anyone who thinks it’s acceptable to commit such acts can fully expect to be arrested and dealt with appropriately.”
