Teen Murder Charges Drop Five in Enfield Stabbing Case
Five teenagers have been charged over the brutal 2017 murder of 18-year-old Joao Ricardo Gomes in Enfield.
17-Year-Old Charged with Murder and More
On Monday 20 January, a 17-year-old boy was hit with multiple charges, including the murder of Joao Ricardo Gomes, who was fatally stabbed on 13 May 2017. He also faces charges of violent disorder, grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of a blade.
Another 17-year-old male was charged the same day with conspiracy to rob and violent disorder. Both youths are due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 21 January.
More Teens Charged with Conspiracy to Rob and Violent Disorder
- Dean Townsend, 19, of Enfield
- A 16-year-old boy
- A 17-year-old male
All three were charged earlier in the week with conspiracy to rob and violent disorder. They remain in custody and are set to appear at Wood 1 Crown Court on Monday 17 February.
Other Arrests Quashed
Three other males previously arrested in the investigation have been released with no further action.
