County Lines Crackdowns Continue

The incident comes amid a broader Kent police crackdown on county lines drug gangs.

  • In January and February 2022, County Lines and Gangs Team uncovered phone evidence linking the ‘Mikey’ line to heroin and crack cocaine deals in Margate.
  • Suspect Courtney Cann, 28, from Catford, London, was caught on CCTV using the phone to arrange drug deals during train journeys.
  • Cann was arrested on March 11 and later pleaded guilty at Canterbury Crown Court following swift justice.
  • Other recent busts include Aaron Clark, 26, linked to the ‘Koby’ line, and Jannai Johnson, 25, tied to the ‘Ritchie’ line in Aylesford and Ramsgate, both charged with drug supply offences.
  • The ‘Milo’ line in Ramsgate also saw arrests of two women and a 17-year-old boy under investigation.

Police Determined to Hit Gangs Hard

Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Talboys of the County Lines and Gangs Team said: “Those involved in county lines are often also linked to violent and acquisitive crime in Kent. We’re committed to disrupting these gangs to spare users and families the misery drugs bring. Every arrest and charge counts towards safer communities.”

The Cann case highlights the meticulous policing efforts behind jail sentences that keep dangerous drug dealers off Kent’s streets.
