County Lines Crackdown Yields Multiple Arrests
In related news, Kent Police’s County Lines and Gangs Team are cracking down hard on drugs trafficking. In early 2022, they uncovered a phone used by the so-called “Mikey” line to organise heroin and crack cocaine deals in Margate.
Court CCTV showed 28-year-old Courtney Cann using the phone on a train to Margate. He was arrested on March 11, admitted his crimes, and was sentenced at Canterbury Crown Court within three months.
Other recent busts include:
- Aaron Clark, 26, linked to the “Koby” line, charged with crack cocaine and heroin supply.
- Jannai Johnson, 25, from Aylesford, charged with supply and possession of crack cocaine and heroin tied to the “Ritchie” line.
- Three individuals, including a 17-year-old, arrested and bailed in connection with the “Milo” line in Ramsgate.
Kent Police Vow to Keep Hitting County Lines Hard
Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Talboys of the County Lines and Gangs Team said:
“Those involved in county lines are often behind violent and acquisitive crimes across Kent. We’re committed to disrupting these gangs, protecting users and families from the misery drugs cause, and locking up offenders.”
The investigation into Cann’s operation highlights the meticulous police work behind each successful arrest and conviction, helping keep Kent’s streets safer.
