Justice Served for Kirstie
The family of Kirstie has expressed deep gratitude following the sentencing of her murderer. “We are extremely grateful and give our thanks to all the people who have made this day possible and brought some sense of justice on behalf of our daughter,” they said.
They also thanked the court staff, prosecuting barrister, and the judge for their professionalism and consideration throughout the trial. “The smooth running of the court today gave us strength in a very painful time,” the family added.
West Yorkshire Police Praised for Tireless Work
Special praise went to West Yorkshire Police for their dedication and hard work in gathering the evidence that secured the conviction. “We extend our thanks to the police officers who worked closely with the family, offering care, attention, and constant updates during this difficult ordeal,” said the family.
They commended the police for their kindness under tough circumstances, stating, “Now the public — especially women — can breathe a sigh of relief knowing this dangerous individual can no longer harm the community.”
Kirstie’s Legacy: Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse
Kirstie was remembered as a vibrant, loving woman who had bravely spoken out about domestic abuse after suffering it herself. “Though the problem of abuse remains hidden behind closed doors, our precious daughter and her baby girl have been lost to it,” the family said.
They recalled Kirstie’s joyful spirit: “She loved a drink, to dance and sing the night away. Her light will forever shine with family, friends, and all who knew her happiness.”
Gratitude to Supporters and Witnesses
The family closed by thanking friends, relatives, and everyone who provided evidence against the killer. “Without your support, we couldn’t have made it through these horrendous times or achieved the justice Kirstie deserved,” they said.
“Though we can never fully move on, we now begin to pick up the pieces and ensure Kirstie is remembered as the happy, loving woman she was — finally resting peacefully as she deserves.”
