Worthing Man Jailed for Hoarding 250 Abhorrent Child Images
Lewis Peters, 31, from Worthing, has been locked up for four years after being caught with hundreds of vile child abuse images. The Sussex Police Online Child Abuse Team (OCAT) swooped on his home on June 3 as part of a covert sting operation.
Desperate Attempt to Hide Shocking Evidence
During the raid, Peters tried to hide a tiny memory card loaded with 250 Category A indecent images and videos of children — the worst kind. Police also uncovered his phone contained more illegal content including 32 Category A, 74 Category B, and 12 Category C images.
This discovery put Peters in breach of a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) slapped on him just three months earlier, after previous offences.
Guilty Plea and Heavy Sentence at Hove Crown Court
On July 5, Peters admitted to three counts of making indecent child photos, four SHPO breaches, and possessing extreme pornographic images. Judge handed down a four-year jail term on July 16.
Police Vow to Hunt Down Child Abusers Relentlessly
“Lewis Peters was determined to continue offending despite the SHPO given in April,” said Investigator Maisie Upjohn from Worthing OCAT. “Each image and video represents a victim somewhere in the world. We will relentlessly pursue offenders to protect children from further harm.”
