Stabbing Surge Hits Hackney, Peckham & Kennington
- In Hackney, another man in his 20s was stabbed near St Mary of Eton Church around 9pm on September 14. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No arrests yet.
- Peckham suffered a brutal attack on Rye Lane at 5:15am on September 15, where a man was stabbed and hospitalised with injuries not deemed life-threatening. Police continue their probe with no suspects in custody.
- Kennington saw a teenage stabbing early on September 16. Police and paramedics arrived around 3:30am to find the youth injured but stable. Investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
Tragic Murder in Stepney Green
31-year-old Charlotte Lawler was fatally stabbed in Duckett Street, Stepney Green just after 1:17am on September 15. She was pronounced dead on arrival. Hope Rowe, 32, from Piazza Walk, E1, has been charged with her murder and possession of a bladed weapon. Another man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but released on bail.
