Two Men Seriously Attacked in Titchfield – Police Hunt Witnesses
Police are urgently appealing for witnesses after two men were brutally assaulted in Titchfield in the early hours of Sunday, 22 July. At 3.25am, officers were called to The Square, Titchfield Common, Fareham, following reports of two men found with serious injuries.
Unprovoked Attack Behind Recreation Ground
The victims, a 29-year-old and a 32-year-old, both from Fareham, were walking behind Titchfield Recreation Ground when a group of youths confronted them. The 32-year-old suffered two puncture wounds, while the 29-year-old was hit on the head with an object, causing a serious head injury.
Both men were rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital. Detective Sergeant Gary Cable confirmed the victims had been walking back from a local festival when the unprovoked attack took place.
“This appears to be an unprovoked attack which happened as they were walking back from a local festival via the back of Titchfield Recreation Ground. The two men have been approached by a group of people, described as youths, who have then assaulted them,” said DS Cable.

The victims managed to reach The Bugle Hotel, where they received help before emergency services arrived. Police say there will be a noticeable presence in the area during their ongoing investigation.
“We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area last night or anyone who thinks they may have information that could assist our inquiry,” added DS Cable.
