Man Jailed for Brutal Rape After Dating Website Meet-Up
Mark Samuels met his victim on a dating site in July 2019. They went for drinks before heading back to her home. The following morning, he brutally raped her.
Justice Delivered at Warwick Crown Court
On Friday, 30 October, Samuels was found guilty of rape and sentenced at Warwick Crown Court. Detective Constable Steve Reading condemned the attack as “horrific” and praised the victim’s bravery.
“This was a horrific attack on a young woman who was very clear she did not consent to have sex with Samuels.”
“This has understandably been a traumatic experience for the victim and I would like to commend her for the bravery and courage she has shown in coming forward and reporting what happened. I hope this sentencing will give her some closure and help her to begin moving forward in her life.”
