Isle of Wight Woman Faces License Loss After Crashing Mercedes in Shanklin
An Isle of Wight woman is on the brink of losing her driving license after crashing her white Mercedes in Shanklin on Tuesday evening. The 28-year-old was arrested at the scene following a single-vehicle smash.
Blows Nearly Three Times Over Drink Drive Limit
Police breath tests revealed the woman was almost three times the legal drink-drive limit. At Newport Police Station, she recorded an astonishing 86 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. Despite this, she claimed she had only “one for the road.”
Charged and Due in Court
Authorities have charged the driver, who is set to appear before Isle of Wight Magistrates Court later this month. Thankfully, no one was injured in the crash—more luck than anything, say officers.
Strong Warning to Drink-Drivers
This incident sends a loud and clear message: drinking and driving don’t mix. Police urge motorists not to risk their lives or others’ on the road.
