Jack Mitchell Dies at 15 After Childhood Injuries
Jack Mitchell tragically passed away aged just 15 in 2016. A forensic post-mortem revealed he died from a pulmonary infection and pneumonia, caused by injuries he suffered as a baby in Laindon.
Dad Charged and Pleads Guilty
Jack’s biological dad, 37-year-old John Doak of Spalding, was charged with murder. But at Chelmsford Crown Court on Friday, November 6, he admitted manslaughter. Sentencing is set for Monday, November 9.
Detective Expresses Heartfelt Condolences
“This is a truly tragic case of a young man whose future was taken away from him by the injuries sustained at the hands of his father,” said Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Truss. “My thoughts also go out to Jack’s adoptive parents who gave him many wonderful years.”
