Katie Price’s Range Rover Seized Over Driving Offences
Former glamour model Katie Price has had her silver Range Rover snatched by police after being caught driving without a licence or insurance. The drama unfolded just before 6pm last Friday at the Sompting Road roundabout in Worthing, West Sussex.
Star Spends Over an Hour Talking to Police
The 45-year-old, who only recently got her driving licence back after a two-year ban, was seen chatting with police for more than an hour. Locals confirmed it was her signature silver Range Rover that was impounded on the spot.
Katie’s Sky-High Insurance Costs
Just days before the bust, Katie revealed she pays a whopping £14,000 yearly for car insurance, after quotes soared as high as £73,000. In a TikTok live, she vented her frustration at insurers, blaming her celebrity status for the eye-watering premiums. “People with similar situations but normal jobs don’t get charged this much,” she said.
A Troubled Driving Past
- In December 2021, Katie was banned from driving for two years after crashing near her Sussex home.
- She got a 16-week suspended jail sentence after admitting drink-driving while disqualified and uninsured.
- That crash saw her BMW flip onto its side on the way to visit a friend in September 2021.
- Following the incident, Katie underwent court-ordered rehab and tested positive for alcohol and cocaine.
“I’m truly sorry and know I need to focus on my mental health,” Katie said after rehab.
Police Seize Vehicle Under Road Traffic Act
Sussex Police confirmed officers spoke to the 45-year-old and seized the Range Rover under Section 165(a) of the Road Traffic Act. No further details have been released.
Investigations are ongoing, with Katie facing potential extra legal action. Meanwhile, her prized SUV remains in police custody as the inquiry continues.
