West Drayton Murderer Sentenced to Life for Brutal Stabbing

Harley Dee Thompson from Hillingdon has been jailed for life with a minimum of 24 years for the savage stabbing of Dariusz Wolosz in West Drayton. After a hard-fought retrial, murder detectives secured a unanimous verdict that finally saw justice served.

Brutal Attack Ends Dariusz Wolosz’s Life

Dariusz Wolosz, 46, was fatally stabbed during a violent street fight on Tavistock Road on January 4, 2022. Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley described the horror of the attack: “Dariusz died after suffering multiple stab injuries. There had been a dispute, and Thompson decided this was worthy of a man losing his life. Dariusz had been stabbed with severe force in his groin and chest, and there was no chance he could have survived such a ferocious attack.”

Retrial Secures Murder Conviction After Hung Jury

Thompson was first tried at Harrow Crown Court in May 2023. The jury found him guilty of possession of a bladed article, but could not agree on murder. A retrial at Croydon Crown Court in December 2023 changed the story. After just three hours deliberation, the jury unanimously convicted him of murder.

DCI Jolley praised the police effort: “Taking a case to court twice can be part of the criminal justice process. It requires dedication and energy from our officers to maintain the highest professionalism no matter how many times it happens.”

Life Sentence Brings Some Comfort to Victim’s Family

On January 12, 2024, at Woolwich Crown Court, Harley Dee Thompson, born June 19, 1994, of Albert Road, Yiewsley, was handed life imprisonment with a minimum term of 24 years. This sentencing accounts for the 732 days he spent on remand.

The verdict offers a beacon of hope for Dariusz Wolosz’s family and friends as they begin to come to terms with their devastating loss.
