Gang members jailed as police smash huge drugs operation
More crooks from a notorious organised crime gang have been locked up today (Wednesday, April 12) as the crackdown on serious crime ramps up.
Inside the drug den
Stunning footage from inside the gang’s HQ shows members gearing up in forensic suits to slice and weigh over 200 kilos of amphetamine. They laced the drugs with cutting agents before shipping them across the North and South of England.
The cameras also caught huge hauls of cannabis being dropped off in black bin liners at their Darwen base in Hollins Grove Mill. The stash was then packaged and passed on to a network of street dealers keeping local streets flooded with illegal weed.
Operation Warrior: Fighting crime, saving lives
The investigation, named Operation Warrior, kicked off in 2021 after police decoded encrypted phones linked to 123 felons.
“Results like this, which will directly make Lancashire safer, is what the public want,” said a spokesperson. “This is a key win for Police and Crime Commissioner Andrew Snowden’s Fighting Crime Plan.”
“I urge anyone to report suspicious activity or anything that might help us bring criminals to justice. We keep targeting organised crime groups and making sure they face the full force of the law.”
Cracking down on organised crime
#OpWarrior remains Lancashire police’s blunt weapon against gangsters, dismantling drug networks, and cleaning up the streets for good.
