Dante Forrest Jailed for Life Over Horrific Killing of Marvin Dickson

Decomposed Body Found in Haringey Flat

Police forced their way into a boarded-up flat on Moselle Avenue, Haringey, after neighbours complained of a terrible smell on 20 September 2024. Inside, officers discovered the decomposed body of 40-year-old Marvin Dickson lying in the bathtub. He had been dead for around ten days.

No signs of forced entry suggested the killer had easy access and locked up afterwards to cover their tracks.

DNA and CCTV Seal Killer’s Fate

The Met Police used Marvin’s blood found on a pizza box to nail Dante Forrest, 36. CCTV footage showed Marvin alive with Forrest just days before his death. Disturbingly, Forrest was seen wearing Marvin’s distinctive purple, blue, and white trainers after the murder — trainers that have never been recovered.

Forensic teams also found blood stains on Forrest’s shirt and the pizza box, cementing his guilt.

Family Heartbroken as Justice Is Served

“While we are grateful that justice has been delivered, no verdict can bring him back or ease the sadness we carry every day. Marvin will forever be loved, missed, and remembered,” said Marvin’s family.

Detective Inspector Mark Johnson added: “This sentence brings a measure of closure. Marvin’s family has shown immense strength throughout this investigation.”

Shocking Crime Details

  • Marvin suffered multiple injuries, including fractures to the head and face, plus several stab wounds.
  • The last time Marvin was seen alive he was collecting pizza alongside Forrest, caught on CCTV.
  • Forrest was arrested on 25 September, just two days after his trainers were spotted on camera.

Dante Forrest was convicted at the Old Bailey on 13 November 2024. He now faces a minimum of 22 years behind bars. Justice has finally been served for Marvin Dickson’s brutal murder.
