Liverpool Man Nabbed with Gun and Ammo in Taxi Sting
Gun and Ammo Found in Abandoned Bag
A 39-year-old man from Liverpool has been charged after police discovered a revolver and bullets hidden in a taxi. Kyle Simm, from Elleray Drive, was caught after officers stopped a private hire cab on Eaton Road around 8.15pm on Friday, September 29.
The police grew suspicious of the passenger in the back seat. Upon approach, they noticed a bag left inside. Before they could act, Simm bolted, abandoning the bag.
Inside, officers found a 2.2 calibre revolver, four rounds of ammunition, and over £100 in cash.
Simm Arrested and Remanded in Custody
Simm was arrested early next morning and charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition. He appeared at Wirral Remand Court where he was remanded into custody pending further inquiries.
