Bus Driver Punched in Savage South London Attack

Police are hunting a thug after a bus driver was punched in the face during a shocking assault in Lambeth, south London.

The 43-year-old driver was taking a break near Atkins Road at around 11:55am on Monday, 20 July when the attacker suddenly jumped on board and delivered a brutal blow.

Serious Injuries After Unprovoked Attack

The victim was rushed to hospital with serious facial injuries, including an eye injury. Police say the attack was completely unprovoked and has hit the driver hard.

Police Appeal After Incident Linked to Earlier Road Rage

Officers revealed the assailant may be connected to an earlier road rage spat involving a motorcyclist at nearby traffic lights.

“This was a completely unprovoked attack which has left the victim with an eye injury,” said PC Nick Kortright from the Roads and Policing Command. “As a professional driver, this is clearly of significant concern to him. I would urge anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV stills to contact us.”

If you recognise the suspect, contact the Roads and Transport Policing Command on 101 immediately.
